Safe sky for birds in Northeast Bulgaria

Joint project of Electrodistribution North (EDN) and Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) - LIFE21-NAT-BG-LIFE NE BG Safe Sky

The project aims to reduce unnatural mortality among 16 globally threatened bird species caused by electrocution and collisions with power lines. The key actions include insulating 10,200 hazardous electricity pylons, installing 2,000 bird diverters, and providing 100 safe nesting sites. The project targets 28 Natura 2000 sites and key corridors in NE Bulgaria, focusing on species listed in Annex I of the Bird Directive and the IUCN Red List.
